January & February 2025
Dear Fellow Laborers in the Lord,
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." (Jeremiah 33:3)
Writing and sharing how the Lord has been working in our lives and ministry is always a joy. Your prayers and support mean so much to us, and we are truly grateful for the partnership we share in this calling. We have seen God’s faithfulness in so many ways, and we want to take a moment to praise Him for his answered prayers!
A Busy Start to the Year
The year has started off amazingly, and February was an incredibly busy month filled with important milestones. Mariana's U.S. citizenship oath ceremony took place on February 19th, and we praise God that she is now officially an American citizen! This has been a long journey, and we are grateful for His provision every step of the way. We also rejoice in sharing that Alya has officially become a Mexican citizen as of February 28th. These were crucial steps in our transition, and we are so thankful for how the Lord has guided us through them.
An Emotional Send-Off
One of the most memorable moments this past month was our church send-off service. It was an emotional yet joyous time where I had the privilege of preaching one last time before our departure. Hearing heartfelt testimonies from our church members about how God has worked through our ministry was truly humbling. We are so blessed to have had such a strong support system, and we thank God for the friendships and encouragement we have received along this journey.
Construction Progress & Our Future Home
As we prepare to move, construction on our home in Mexico continues! We will first move into a small "tiny house" that we will expand over time. The house is currently a 36x13-foot structure that is technically two bedrooms and two bathrooms, but we will be converting it into a one-bedroom, one-bathroom home with a living room and kitchen to suit our needs better. The week of this writing, work will begin on the interior, and we are eager to see how God continues to provide throughout this process. It has been amazing to watch the progress and know that this will soon be our home and a base for ministry.
Final Documents & Departure Preparations
We eagerly await the arrival of the girls' Mexican passports and Mariana's U.S. passport so we can officially leave for the field. Due to recent changes in immigration policies and the presidential administration, processing times have been delayed, adding some unexpected wait time. Lord willing, we will move and arrive in Mexico on April 1st. Please pray for a smooth and timely process to move forward according to God’s perfect plan. We trust in His timing and provision as we take these final steps toward the mission field.
We are incredibly grateful to each of you who have faithfully prayed for us, encouraged us, and supported us. Your partnership in this ministry is very valuable, and we look forward to sharing how the Lord continues to work in the days ahead. Let us stay faithful until the Lord comes back!
Your Partner in the Lord,
Gavino Hernandez
